Here’s a quick guide to help you set it up:
- Sign in to your Azure portal.
- Navigate to Cost Management
- Under Cost Management, select Budgets.
- Click on Add to create a new budget.
- Enter the details for your budget, including the scope, amount, and reset period
- There are 3 budget alert we set
For 50 % percent
For 90 % percent
For 200 % percent
- For the Budget Name follow these naming conventions
<Tenant name>_50_Percent
<Tenant name>_90_Percent
<Tenant name>_200_Percent
- Check pervious five month budget and take the average of this budget to put it into the budget Amount and use same budget for all percentage . For doing this follow these step :-
1-> Go to Cost Management -> Go to Cost Analysis on left panel.
2->Go to Accumulated Cost
3->Check cost for last five month
- Select Actual and use these three mails for both 50% and 90 % alert.
- Select Forecast for 200% alerts.
First create action group and use these mails and phone no.

- Press Create and the budget is added for the tenant.
